Lack of Focus?

Yes, I know it seems like it been forever since I have updated this blog. I was gung hoe on the quilting in the spring. I got lots of projects done and idea's to start new ones, but once it started getting hot outside it seems I just gave up on it. Maybe I'm just lacking focus. I work a little every week on quilts. I mean maybe an hour at the most. This is why I still have blocks to square up on my currant project. I still read all the blogs and check out the fabric websites to see what going on, but I guess I'm just not a summer quilting person. Summer is for doing things you can't do any other time of the year. Camping, hiking, amusement parks, swimming, picnics etc... Once it starts to get cool outside the bug will come and bit me again.

I Think I Have A Fetish For Stars

  • What do you think?
  • Is it to busy?
  • Do you like scrappy or just a few colors?
  • Does it look hard to make?
  • Would you make this pattern and why?
  • Do you think I should make this pattern and send it off to some of the magazines or make it into a pattern of my own and sell it?
Keep in mind this is only a small sampling of the over all quilt.

Almost Seems Like Christmas.

How is your summer going? Mine has been wet. I'm sick of rain. All it seems to do is rain. Sun shine makes me happy. I think there is a song that uses those words.

I am hooked on reading blogs. I have something like 100 or more that I read and at times I find it hard to keep up. I have so many that I get to the point of never leaving a comment to let you know I was there. I only look at the pictures to see if I need to read the blog. I am bad, I know. Sorry. Life is just getting in the way. Tonight I checked out The Jelly Jabber from The Fat Quarter Shop (check out their Figgy Stars quilt kit. Love it!!!) and saw the new Crazy Eight Fabric from Sandy Gervais for Moda.

I love her bright colors. It really does not look like Christmas, but does that really matter? I have her Christmas fabric Merry and Bright from last year. I got it to make her Through the Woods pattern. I still have to get it done. I have about 50% of it done. It's on my list. Maybe I will play catch up when I have two days off in a row.

I've been playing around with EQ6 and drawing up a few of my own patterns. I just need to make them out of fabric and then get pictures and send them off to the magazines. Where ever will I get time to do that? I just need to make the time. If you follow me on Facebook you know I have been making 72 six inch nine patch blocks for the quilt pattern I am working on now. I am using a total of 26 different fabrics. I just love a quilt of color. I have all the blocks made, I just need to square them up and get them sewn into a top. I'm thinking this one would be jelly roll friendly.

A couple of days ago I was playing around and came up with this pattern. I am only showing a small sample as I don't want to give away to much of the pattern. Some out there may say I'm showing too much. I always say a little leg never hurt anyone.

Work will be crazy for a few weeks so I'm not sure when I will get another blog post done, but I will be back so hang in there. Feel free to post me a note on facebook, as I always check it. Click the link on the right to find me on facebook.

I see Stars

Did you have a great long weekend? Do anything fun? I worked on Saturday and Monday. Not much of a weekend for me. We did have a friend in from out of town and we all went to a Mobster theme birthday party on Saturday night. I thought the best part of the night was the blue cheese burgers or was it when the BH forgot we were going on vacation next week. Obviously, it wasn't the last part. hehe

This quilt looks so lonely hanging on the wall by it's self. Wonder want I could put up next to it?

Plaid fabric made into star blocks. What project will these be used in?

Lost is now found.

I found these in the entryway closet that I don't even remember being in. It's a good thing I go back in the closet every now and then. You never know what you will find.

FIU = DONE

I used this quilt as my FIU (Finish It Up) for Pats group. Read more about it here.

Here is my Fresh Tradition quilt that I've been working on. He is just a little guy of 36 x 45, but he's so adorable. I quilted this one with my walking foot. I am finding that I can do lots with just a walking foot. Click on the picture and you can really see the quilting. I used a zigzag and a serpentine stitch.

I love this picture of him in the rocker, but his home will be on my blank wall in the quilt room. Click here to see his home.

Look what followed me home today. I still don't think I own as many as Carrie, but I am trying to catch up to her.

Binding

Getting ready to sew the binding on a quilt. I used 30 biding clips on one side alone. I need more clips. I'll show the quilt in a few days.

Binding fabric for three quilts. I'm in a brown phase.

You've Got Mail

Look what came in the mail from my good friend Matt. Stop in and say Hi. Let him know that Charlie sent ya.

Lets open it together.

Oh look, an apology from the Canada Post Corporation for the damaged package. Not sure that the US Post would enclose a letter

Wow, a slash cutter. Now I just need to come up with a project for this.

I had won this for being the most friendly in their chat room. I will talk to most people about anything. Most of the time I go to their chat room just for the music.

P.S. if you see Nana in the chat room tell her howdy for me.

P.P.S Blog list on the right has been updated. If you would like your blog included drop me a note.
