A special thank you to Sue Abrey for donating her upcoming book entitled Pick Four

Sometimes we don't think of the BIG picture. We're all connected by what is know as the World Wide Web and we think everyone is running on the same time zone as we are, but they are not. I had forgot this and I apologize.

For all my international folks, I've updated the time for the finished quilt to be posted to fickr to midnight 7/11/2011 CST to be eligible for a grand prize drawing of a $100 gift certificate courtesy of Fat Quarter Shop

Overall, I hope you had fun today and I will take what I have learned from this and apply it to the next quilt along that I host. Thanks for remembering I am human and I do make mistakes.

If you could not join us today for what ever reason you're welcome to make the quilt at your leisure as it will be immortalized forever because of the web.

Until next time,

Quilt Block Update

I have been busy over the last few days. I have gotten some blocks done and wanted to show you. The color is off on all of these and I'm not sure why.

First up is the February Bee block for Fresh Modern Bee. Amy, hope you enjoy.

The above two blocks are week 4 of the Patchwork Squared Modern Solids Quilt Along. I hope to get the past two weeks done in the next couple of days. I'm using the Mango Azure color group. Get your kit at the Fat Quarter Shop before they are gone. Love the orange and aqua. What looks like blue is really a gray. These blocks were quick and easy and Ryan has done an awesome job writing the tutorials for these blocks. He has a way of making them super easy and anyone, even a beginner quilter could make them. Please join in on the fun if you haven't already.

I'll have more for you later.

Do you subscribe to Fat Quarterly? No? Well you should because Patchwork Squared has a new pattern in issue 5! It's our Bookworm quilt.

There is also a limited number of kits available for the Bookworm pattern over at Above All Fabric. Gets yours before they are all gone. Melanie is even willing to switch to another line if you want and adjust the solids and sashing/border fabrics to fit. Wow! What great service. Thanks Melanie for kitting this.

Don't forget about the Patchwork Squared Modern Solids Quilt Along going on. We're working on week 5 blocks. Follow along with our Flickr group here. Don't forget that the Fat Quarter Shop still has a very limited number of kits available if you want to make your own using the colors chosen by us.
