I see Stars

Did you have a great long weekend? Do anything fun? I worked on Saturday and Monday. Not much of a weekend for me. We did have a friend in from out of town and we all went to a Mobster theme birthday party on Saturday night. I thought the best part of the night was the blue cheese burgers or was it when the BH forgot we were going on vacation next week. Obviously, it wasn't the last part. hehe

This quilt looks so lonely hanging on the wall by it's self. Wonder want I could put up next to it?

Plaid fabric made into star blocks. What project will these be used in?

Lost is now found.

I found these in the entryway closet that I don't even remember being in. It's a good thing I go back in the closet every now and then. You never know what you will find.

FIU = DONE

I used this quilt as my FIU (Finish It Up) for Pats group. Read more about it here.

Here is my Fresh Tradition quilt that I've been working on. He is just a little guy of 36 x 45, but he's so adorable. I quilted this one with my walking foot. I am finding that I can do lots with just a walking foot. Click on the picture and you can really see the quilting. I used a zigzag and a serpentine stitch.

I love this picture of him in the rocker, but his home will be on my blank wall in the quilt room. Click here to see his home.

Look what followed me home today. I still don't think I own as many as Carrie, but I am trying to catch up to her.

Binding

Getting ready to sew the binding on a quilt. I used 30 biding clips on one side alone. I need more clips. I'll show the quilt in a few days.

Binding fabric for three quilts. I'm in a brown phase.

You've Got Mail

Look what came in the mail from my good friend Matt. Stop in and say Hi. Let him know that Charlie sent ya.

Lets open it together.

Oh look, an apology from the Canada Post Corporation for the damaged package. Not sure that the US Post would enclose a letter

Wow, a slash cutter. Now I just need to come up with a project for this.

I had won this for being the most friendly in their chat room. I will talk to most people about anything. Most of the time I go to their chat room just for the music.

P.S. if you see Nana in the chat room tell her howdy for me.

P.P.S Blog list on the right has been updated. If you would like your blog included drop me a note.

Hanging Upsde Down

Look what showed up in our hallway.

The bats been in this spot for two days now. Not sure if it's hibernating or dead. I'm thinking it is hibernating, but it needs to go live elsewhere.

Mother's Day

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

"Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking it's life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

"You will simply call her, 'Mom.'"

Lost, Fire and Ice

It's been a while since I have last blogged. I have a block and can't really think of anything that I want to make into a post. Thought I would let you know what going on in my quilting world.

Have you ever bought something and set it aside for later, but when you're ready for it you can't seem to find it. I bought some black batik fabric and a Bali pop (a Bali pop is precut 2.5" strips of Bali fabric from Hoffman) set it aside for later and now I can't find it. I wanted to use it for an original pattern that I've written. I've turned my quilting room upside down looking for it. Even cleaned out a few drawers last night at 10 o'clock in hopes of finding it, but no luck. I did find the receipt and package it was mailed in. Maybe one day it'll show up. I know if I was to buy more it would show up for sure.

I'm still working on my fresh traditions quilt and I'm just about done with it. I'm looking forward to quilting it. I have a few idea's I would like to try. Going to use the walking foot and see what great designs I might stitch out.

The MQS (Machine Quilters Showcase) is happening next week and I can't wait. Don't you just love their theme? I am looking forward to seeing the great quilts and will try and get some pictures. This is where I will stock up on thread and other great quilting items. Superior threads will be there and their thread is always wholesale at the show. The only downfall is that I need to think about what colors of thread I need for the next 12 months. Hell, I'll get one of every color!

Looking for a few good ideas for a blog post. I Need your help!
