Book Giveaway {House of White Birches Sponsored}
Learn to Make a Foundation-Pieced Quilt features six quilt patterns in a 32 page, full-color book. It is available from the Clotilde catalog.
Foundation piecing incorporates a quilt-making techniques that sews patchwork into a foundation following a numerical sequence, with stitching lines drawn into the foundation.
The book opens with general instructions for creating the quilted blocks using the foundation piecing method. It then offers instructions for the entire quilting process, followed by step-by-step instruction for each block design.

Foundation piecing is so elegant on a quilt. The bottom right hand corner block on the book cover is absolutely stunning - 3 different colors on the points WOW !

Oh i love the different things you can do with foundation piecing. I haven't tried anything bigger than an ornament though! this book looks beautiful

ReplyDeleteI've had a few tries at pping, but had some frustrations as well....I usually get the fabric piece laid wrong and then it doesn't cover the paper fully..:( I'm sure the book would give some helpful tips to success...

I have read about this technique and have many questions.. is it like paper piecing.. I guess I will have to do some more research.. I would love to be entered to win this book as many of the patterns on the cover look like they would challenge and enrich my quilting. Thank you for the giveaway.

ReplyDeletePaper piecing is on my things to try list for this year. And, try, I have. So far my results have not been very good, but I have hope that practice will make, well, not perfect, but at least acceptable results. Eventually!

ReplyDeleteI want this book more than almost anything else. I need to learn how to do this because I think this I could do sitting down and not have to stand a cut with a rotary cutter. I know some people can sit and use the rotary cutter but I can't even use it right standing so what chance do I have sitting? None that's how much. Thank you for the opportunity to win this.
