Work asked me to do a sample for the Original Sewing and Quilting Expo that showed off our new Ruby sewing and embroidery machine. I wanted to showcase the large hoop and design placement.
Close up of the quilting. Crosshatching was done with walking foot. I used a serpentine stitch from the Ruby for the inner border and a wavy ruler to mark the outer border then the edge of the walking foot for spacing. See I really do know how to quilt.
Back view of quilting.
I used two of these sheets when I washed the table runner and this still happened.
It's only on the back and right around the stitching of the inner border. The inner border was a batik that I didn't prewash. I thought the color catcher would have taken care of it. I guess not.
Prewash all batiks before use.

That is a beautiful runner. I'm sorry the colors ran. From what I can see; it's not bad.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me nervous when I don't prewash fabrics; but, sometimes, one cannot (such as layer cakes).
Did you use the newest walking foot from Husqvarna Viking with the Ruby? It's my most favorite foot these days. I love all the different feet they have for it, making it very versatile. I have a DD but really want the Ruby too.....hmmm, maybe for Christmas????
