- Arrange the blocks as shown, alternating between black and red blocks. In 4 rows of 4
- Using a scant 1/4" seam allowance, sew the blocks into rows

I love the putting together of a quilt top. From yesterday, I have put together (in various stages) eight out of 36 Double Quartet blocks for a good bed size quilt.

ReplyDeleteI am using Aurifil thread for the first time on this quilt! It is sewing very well so far. It would be great to get some other colors! My circle making is going slowly but I think it will pick up as I am getting used to it.

ReplyDeleteI also embroider so I really want to make one with solid circles with embroidery on them, I think it would frame the stitching really well. Maybe in red, white, and blue with state outlines or state flowers in the center.

In this oppressive heatwave, I couldn't stand the thought of heating up my sewing machine nor turning on the blaring Ott light in my sewing room. Thanks to your inspiration - I'm getting out the Christmas CD's and turning up a/c! Wonder where one can buy some candy cane ice cream?
